Year 9 experienced a successful Bronze DofE Award Practice Expedition on Friday and Saturday 8-9th September. Although storm clouds billowed in the
distance, the rain held off as the girls learnt how to put up tents and cooked a lovely lentil curry on their gas stoves. Useful skills were then learnt during an
orienteering activity led by Mr Cox.
On Saturday the girls woke up to bright sunshine and a crisp autumn morning. They proceeded to navigate from the campsite to Newlands Corner using their maps and compasses. The final ascent to the car park certainly
taxed some students but they were in good spirits throughout.
Thanks to Miss Neale, Mr Melling, Mr Cox, Mr Mitchell, Mr Rock and Mrs Oakley for their help.
