ISA National Swimming Competition

On the 21st of January a number of girls from St Catherine’s School took part in the ISA National  Swimming Competition. What an opportunity for the girls to be competing competitively at the 2012  Olympic Pool. The girls from prep to senior represented the girls for the London West region.

Tia Branson in Year 5 took a silver for individual 50M backstroke in 42.29seconds. Tia then went on to take a gold medal in the 4x1 freestyle relay with other girls her age representing their region. Ellie Charlton managed to secure a bronze medal with her team mates from the London West region in the 4x1 medley relay. The girls displayed great determination in all of their races, achieving PBs throughout the day.

Our senior girls also made it through to nationals, Izzy Webb getting through to the Year 9 and 10 category racing mostly against Year 10s. Izzy pushed hard in her races, she definitely used this as a warm up ready for next year when she will hopefully represent the same category as a Year 10. Maia Harris took home a bronze medal in the Year 8 freestyle relay. Anna Hunt, Amelia Butcher and Izzy Webb also took home bronze and silver medals in their relays!

Overall the region came 3rd. Well done to all the girls who took part; you should be very proud.
