Girls at St Catherine’s School were in celebratory mood when they received their 2017 GCSE results.
The school achieved excellent figures: 60% of the grades were A*/A, with 50% of the students achieving 8 or more A*/A grades each. 78% of the grades were A*-B and 98% of the girls achieved 5 or more A* - C grades, including English and Maths.
Sister Paula commented: ‘I am absolutely delighted with these results, particularly considering the many uncertainties that both staff and girls have had to deal with due to new exam specifications, a lack of past practice papers and unknown grade boundaries. The girls have truly lived up to the school motto ‘Non Verba sed Facta’ (Not Words but Deeds); they have certainly done the deed and achieved results they can be truly proud of. I could not have asked more from them.'
