On Sunday 8th January, the 36 pupils, 6 staff and 4 Outlook leaders came into school for the Vietnam Itinerary Development Day. This involved a 3 hour session to identify the key phases of the expedition eg trekking through the Sapa Valley, working with Volunteers for Peace in the community project as well as the rest and relaxation period on the junk boats in Halong Bay. We were shown a slideshow and had the opportunity to ask many questions, since one of the Outlook facilitators had recently spent 2 months in Vietnam.
We had lots of team building games to enjoy and useful advice for fund raising was given. Parents were invited in for the final hour to hear more about the trip, see the slideshow and ask any questions.
As a result of the day the girls were further inspired and motivated about the expedition, with it now only being 18 months away Our aim is to work closely within our teams of 12 pupils with their 2 allocated staff, to help and support each other with fund raising over the next 15 months.
Our next development day will be in the New Forest to continue building our skills, so that we are fully prepared for the challenges of our amazing trip in July 2018.
