Early in October, all Year 7 students accompanied by their Form Tutors headed off to Box Hill for a day of activities focused on challenge and team building. Pupils worked in two main areas – an obstacle course and a High Ropes challenge. In both activities pupils were encouraged to develop the skills of listening to each other, working co-operatively, sharing ideas and supporting each other in order to achieve specific targets – whether that was getting their team around the course safely or climbing telegraph poles.
Everyone enjoyed the day and used the activities as a means of developing new friendships. Pupils also gained a better understanding of their own skills and abilities as well as the gifts and qualities shared by their peers.
