Friends of St Catherine’s

All parents automatically belong to F.O.S.C. (The Friends of St Catherine’s School) which arranges a lively programme of social activities and supports the school in many ways including fund raising.

The Friends of St Catherine’s School (FOSC) was formed in 1976 to fundraise and provide extra equipment for the school, its pupils and staff.

We are proud over the years to have contributed in many ways to school life. Amongst many items, we have provided games equipment, cameras, the lawn kitchen, computers and playground games. A brand new computer room, new lockers, furniture and interactive whiteboards are our most recent purchases.

SWIMMING TOWELS

These are available to purchase by contacting Jill Anderson (jillanderson@F2s.com) or 020 8 332 0218. They are supersoft quality navy blue towels (140 x70cm) embroidered with the school crest and your daughter’s name for £15.00.

MEETINGS

We do have meetings once a month to make plans for our events and work in partnership with the school on a wish list. Other meetings held are for the class reps only and they will be advised by email through the class rep co-ordinator.

OLD MOBILE TELEPHONES

Please bring in all your old telephones and help us to raise funds for the school.  Each telephone we receive, we will be paid £2.50.  Please hunt around at home and drop them into the school office.

THURSDAY AFTERNOONS

Abel & Cole operate a school bag scheme (eg a bag of 5 vegetables for £5.00)  These are available to order and collect every Thursday afternoon.  For every bag we sell we make 25% for the school.  Please contact Claire Jones if you need more details on 020 8 943 0853 or see us on Thursday afternoons and we can provide you with a form to order.

Also on sale from Neal’s Yard bakery is Organic bread, fruit bars, chocolate brownies, croissants and much more. If you do particularly want your bread sliced, please order. Please contact Claire Jones if you are interested in joining the scheme or helping us out on Thursdays - 020 8943 0853.

We are now selling samosas, these will be available on a first come first served basis unless you wish to order.

OTHER EVENTS

We run Northbrook Wrapping Paper and Christmas Tree Scheme before the Christmas Fayre.

ALSO RUN BY FOSC

We also run the Tuck Shop for the Senior girls once a week and the Thrift Uniform Shop. The items are either new or second-hand.

We have also produced a St Catherine’s Teddy Bear - available to order.

Just log onto www.buy.at/helpFOSC.com from the comfort of your own armchair and help us to raise further funds for the school. Well-known brand names i.e. Marks and Spencers are included.

THRIFT SHOP

Prep-rain coats, prep tunics, prep skirts, long sleeved blouses, summer dresses, cardigans, pullovers, prep sports sweatshirt and jogging bottoms, leotards, games skirts, prep running shoes, swimming costumes, socks and tights, hats, science overalls and tabards, ties, scarves, school bags and purse belts.

This shop is open monthly and will be available at the Summer Fayre. Please call Tracey Wordley on 020 8 892 2384 if you need any items to be reserved for you.

We do operate a 50/50 system if you wish to sell any items. Any uniform for sale should be clean and marked up with the pupil’s name, telephone number and address and handed into the School office.

DONATIONS

From time to time, we do ask parents and pupils for donations. We are extremely grateful to all the support you give us.

Before each Fayre, we have a Mufti day (no uniform) so children can bring in good condition toys for the Children’s Tombola and bottles for the Bottle Tombola stall. Raffle donations are also very welcome.
