GCSE results
In the 2011 GCSE exams the school achieved good value added figures and exam grades.
98% of pupils achieved 5 A*-C grades, 44% achieved A*/A grades and 79% achieved A*-B grades.
Fifteen girls achieved a total of seven or more A*/A grades (a third of the year group) and three of these achieved 10 A*/As.
Very well done to all our girls!
How much value added has the school contributed to our girls’ results?
Overall St Catherine’s value added score was 1.44 grades above what our girls had been predicted by our benchmarking system, the University of Durham’s MiDYIS process that is widely used by UK independent schools. This means that a girl predicted a mid-B is likely to get an A* at St Catherine’s. Our value added score is considerably above the independent sector average of 1 grade and we believe that this is because of our strong school ethos and small class sizes, averaging eighteen in the Senior School.
