Good Shepherd Mass
June 3rd, 2009
Year 7 joined nearly 2,000 school children from Catholic schools around the Diocese of Westminster at the annual ‘Good Shepherd’ Mass at Westminster Cathedral on Wednesday 3rd June.
St Catherine’s students played a key role in helping to lead the music for the Mass along with over 100 other students from schools across the Diocese. We spent the morning rehearsing the music with students from the other schools and then took a break for lunch. The girls had the chance to explore the Cathedral after lunch and admire the beautiful mosaics.
The Good Shepherd Mass is the Catholic Children’s Society’s (Westminster) annual ‘thank you’ to staff, pupils and parents who have supported the Society’s Lenten Appeal. This year was a particularly special occasion as the Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop John Arnold, who reminded the children during his Homily that God was all around them and inside each of them.
