Inspection report

Fourth excellent Inspection report for St Catherine’s.

The school was highly praised in its Independent Schools Inspection in October 2006. This follows similar glowing write-ups for its Early Years, After School Care and Catholic life over the last year. Pastoral care,
social and cultural life and governance and leadership were all rated as outstanding.

The report commented:

“The educational experience provided is good in almost every respect…Pupils achieve good, and occasionally outstanding, levels of knowledge, skills and critical and creative understanding. It enables them to achieve high standards and prepares them for their next stage of education. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities at lunchtime and after school. The quality of pastoral care is outstanding.”

The Headmistress said: “We are very pleased to have received such praise from the inspectors; it reflects the hard work and dedication of all our staff and pupils. The fact that so many areas were judged to be excellent reflects the focus on the individual that we can give as a small school. However, we are not complacent and are now looking forward to further improving the education that we offer our pupils.”

The Inspection investigated all aspects of the school’s life: academic, sporting and pastoral. As a Catholic school St Catherine’s was also inspected by the Diocese of Westminster.
