On Thursday 7th December, all Sixth Form Scientists attended a Science Live lecture at Friends House in Euston. Five of Britain’s top scientists, all working at the forefront of their specialisms, discussed their recent cutting-edge research on diverse topics such as Evolution ProfessorSteve Jones) and the Science of Communication (Professor Adam Hart). Dr Hannah Critchlow, a neuroscientist from the University of Cambridge, who was named as one of the UK’s Top 100 Scientists by the Science Council, also delivered a fascinating lecture.

There was also an extremely useful session on developing good exam technique. Students received a well-produced booklet with details about each scientist, the lectures and some general articles about studying science andworking as scientists. Mrs Hegarty and I were very proud of our fabulous scientists, who were a credit to our school.
