On Sunday 21st January a number of girls from St Catherine’s in both prep and senior represented London West at the National Schools Swimming gala at the Olympic pool. With over 500 people watching, the girls were outstanding and achieved medal after medal.

Chloe Wayman in Year 4 achieved a Bronze and a Gold medal for individual breaststroke and freestyle relay. Tia Branson achieved Bronze in the individual back and the medley relay and missed out on another Bronze medal by 0.06 of a second. The medals just kept on coming.

In Year 7 ,Tia Berkett took home a gold, Ellie Charlton two Bronze medals and Amber Thomas a Gold and Bronze, in both individual and relay events. Lucia Subak Sharpe in Year 8 took home a silver medal in the freestyle relay, while Amelia Butcher and Anna Hunt narrowly missed out on medals in their races, achieving 4th place in all of them. The girls’ superb performance contributed to London West coming 2nd overall, with only 2 points difference between 2nd and 1st place.
