St Catherine’s will be extending our proven, well established ‘Excellent’ Early Years provision to our girls in Nursery and Reception classes and in addition extended to girls of friends and families and the outside community. We appreciate the needs of today’s extremely busy families and understand that out of term time can be a stressful time and, therefore, are pleased to announce that we will be providing structured learning and play throughout the day between the hours of 8.30 am – 3.30 pm with wrap around care extending the day from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.

The club is led by Janet Saddler, a qualified teacher, who works regularly with St Catherine’s. The school staff are also first aid trained and will structure the day to provide stimulating and closely supervised activity. All activities will be age appropriate and based in the specialist Early Years classrooms and play area of the School.

The days will draw on a range of activities encompassing physical development through outdoor activities, swimming and use of our extensive school grounds; expressive arts and creative design through crafts and role play; personal and social skills through cookery, themed activities and outdoor activities on our field and courts along with the opportunity for quiet, reflective time during the middle of the day.

The girls are able to wear their own clothes but we do ask that all clothes, including footwear, must be suitable for a range of indoor and outdoor activities. Please also remember to pack a swimming bag to include towel, swim cap and goggles.

Please ensure the girls have ‘all day’ sun cream applied before being signed in for the sessions.

St Catherine’s will provide breakfast and a light tea for those girls accessing the wrap around care. However, we do ask that all girls bring their own packed lunch and snacks.

Please feel free to speak to our Head of Prep or Head of Early Years for further details.
