This course will appeal to students who are confident, diligent, creative and able to work independently and as part of team. You do not have to focus on acting. It is possible to be assessed as a designer.

You will study two set plays, and analyse the work of theatre makers in a live production that we will have attended. You will also create a devised piece of theatre and perform extracts from a script, using the style of methodologies of studied practitioners.

Drama is a useful A level for anyone considering a career in the performing arts, but also for anybody who is considering a profession involving teamwork and performance. Girls who have studied Drama have gone on to study in fields such as law, education, public relations, and advertising.

“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense  of what it is to be a human being”
