We value and support each member of our community as a unique individual with unique strengths and potential and work hard to develop the self esteem and confidence of all our students. The traditional values of courtesy, orderly conduct and respect for others are key to life at St Catherine’s.
The Form Tutor manages the daily routines of the group and aims to develop an understanding of every student. As well as providing a reference point for parents and students and monitoring academic progress, the Tutor helps to encourage participation and success in the classroom and a useful contribution outside it across the whole range of school activities. All students follow a PSHE programme.
Careers education begins in Year 9 as an integral part of PSHE. Students are carefully counselled in the GCSE options available to them. The school has links with local careers services and Year 10 students have work experience opportunities.
