The Sixth Form at St Catherine’s is a place of academic rigour, where girls are encouraged to develop their thinking and to stretch themselves. At the same time, we offer a supportive and nurturing environment, enabling each girl to feel confident in moving outside her comfort zone. Our Sixth Form is a real community; a place where each girl can come of age, both intellectually and socially.
The Sixth Form experience has been tailored to meet the needs of young women in today’s society. It has been well-proven that girls thrive academically in a single-sex environment. With the company of other like-minded individuals, they can pursue their academic goals free from distraction. The uptake of STEM subjects by girls is much higher in single sex schools, and girls are also able to have the confidence to speak out and be heard.

At St Catherine’s, we invest in our girls. We offer a full range of academic subjects, and all of the extra-curricular opportunities that you would expect from a high-achieving school. However, as a small school, we are uniquely placed to offer individual attention to each girl, and to tailor the timetable to suit her aspirations. At St Catherine’s, each student is a much-valued individual.

Our girls are confident, kind and capable. They are friendly and open, and new girls from every background very quickly become part of our community.
