St Catherine’s is pleased to introduce its Governors, whose voluntary support of the School is very much appreciated. The Governors assist the Headmistress and Senior Team in school leadership and governance, and visit the School regularly to enjoy events, and to meet staff, pupils and parents.

Ms Sylvia Hamilton (CHAIR)

Ms Hamilton is a senior commercial HR generalist professional with diverse sector experience, including professional service practices, telecoms and property. She has worked with international workforces located in Asia, America, Canada, Central Europe and Scandinavia.

Ms Hamilton has sales and marketing experience which combined with board level influencing and relationship skills also make her suitable for business development projects.

Ms Hamilton read Modern history at Durham University, is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and holds a post-graduate diploma in Marketing.

Mrs Elizabeth Morris

Mrs Morris worked for fifteen years as a lawyer in dispute resolution for a major City solicitors practice. She is now a full-time mother with a passion for education and is keen to do what she can to support St Catherine’s.

Mr Michael Edwards

Mr Edwards is a former partner in a City Law Firm having retired after 26 years. He worked with a real estate group in London that specialised in commercial investment, developments and joint ventures. He has extensive experience in the management and development of young lawyers. He is also involved on a voluntary basis in mentoring teenagers and providing advice to young entrepreneurs.

Mr James Richards

Mr Richards is a former pupil of The John Lyon School in Harrow, and graduated with Honours from the University College of London with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since graduating, Mr Richards has spent the last 20 years working in high risk industries, both in the public and private sector, specialising in the Health, Safety and Environment, and is a Chartered member in this field.

Mr Richards recently returned from Australia after almost 9 years, along with his wife and two year old son. When he isn’t working, he enjoys long walks, running, football and playing music.

Dr Daniel Coughlan

Dr Coughlan is the Director of Sixth Form at St Mary’s School Ascot. He has previously taught at Magdalen College School, Oxford, North London Collegiate School, London, Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge, and Mayfield School in East Sussex.

After an undergraduate degree in Divinity at Trinity College, Cambridge, Dr Coughlan completed his Masters in Ecclesiastical History at St Benet’s Hall, Oxford. He then studied for the priesthood before returning to Trinity to do a PhD in the Second Vatican Council and the English Catholic Church. He is married with three young boys, and resides in East Sussex when not working in Ascot.

Ms Geraldine Costello

Ms Costello is Head of Safe Practice at Girlguiding, leading on implementing safeguarding policies and processes to support volunteers and young people in Girlguiding. She has extensive safeguarding experience gained during 30 years within the Metropolitan Police and 4 years within the voluntary sector. She is committed to influencing and improving outcomes for young people, their families and communities at the earliest opportunity. Ms Costello is married and has two adult daughters, when she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family, walking and running.

Mr Alberto Esguevillas Lete

Mr Alberto Esguevillas Lete has more than 20 years’ experience within the real estate industry, working both in asset, development and investment management, and holds an MBA from London Business School and a masters degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid. Before joining Eurofund as CEO of the UK business, Mr Esguevillas Lete headed up Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s Italian business as country manager, and previously led Westfield’s development projects in London and Stratford with responsibility also for new business across Europe. Prior to joining Westfield in 2014, Mr Esguevillas Lete led Internos’ Global Investors pan European platform leading the retail teams and the Iberian offices.

Mr Esguevillas Lete has lived in London since 2004 and has a strong interest in education, having previously been a governor of Richmond Adult Community College.
