Senior Deputy Head

St Catherine’s is seeking to appoint a confident, positive and experienced Senior Deputy to support the Headmistress in the strategic leadership and operational management of the School.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding and innovative leader to develop and broaden his/her leadership and management skills, and will provide an excellent platform from which to pursue Headship.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be passionate about making a real difference to the lives of St Catherine’s pupils and families, and to the community. He/she will also contribute to the vision and strategic direction of the school, assist in its day-to-day running and be committed to continually raising standards. He/she will have the ability to give feedback that enables reflection and improvement, and will be an inspiring and experienced teacher.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative, aspirational and supportive Senior Management Team, and an enthusiastic and professional staff body who are committed to the care of St Catherine’s pupils.

Teacher of Economics

Part time
To start September 2022

We seek a well-qualified, enthusiastic and highly-motivated teacher to teach Economics to pupils preparing for A Level. S/he will be able to demonstrate excellent planning, teaching, assessment skills and administration, have high expectations, excellent classroom management, strong pastoral skills and the ability to motivate, encourage and inspire pupils.

Economics is a popular subject at A Level and pupils enjoy related co-curricular discussions and activities which help to ensure their progress and enjoyment. This position includes an allowance for subject leadership, and the teacher appointed will work closely with the Head of Sixth Form and other subject leaders to ensure best practice and effective curriculum delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a
newly trained Economics teacher, or for a person seeking leadership and the additional leadership training and opportunities available.

We would welcome applications from teachers who are also able to teach an additional subject (e.g. Politics or Maths) and/or from applicants interested in a larger role, who have other skills to offer.

Prep School Teacher of Music

Part time To start April or September 2022

We are looking for a well-qualified, energetic and skilled Teacher of Music, who will be able to demonstrate excellent planning, teaching and assessment skills, including good administration. S/he will have consistently high expectations of herself/himself, excellent classroom management, strong pastoral skills and an ability to motivate, encourage and inspire pupils.

Experience in voice, recorder, and piano is highly preferable, and the ability to organise extra-curricular musical activities and performances would be expected. The successful candidate will teach across Early Years, and Key Stage 1 and 2; experience of, or willingness to, work in all key stages is desirable.
