Year 5 made a terrific start to their Tudor topic with a visit to Hampton Court Palace last Wednesday. In our first workshop, the girls did a fantastic job acting out some of the life events of ‘Young Henry’, learning about his personality, lifestyle, appearance and the break with Rome. In their second workshop, ‘Performance, Painting and Propaganda’, the girls looked at three famous Holbein paintings and, through drama, demonstrated the difference between what is portrayed in a painting, and reality. In addition, we explored the Great Hall, the Kitchen Garden, along with some of the apartment rooms. A good time was had by all.
