St Catherine’s offers Prep scholarships which are available for pupils currently in Year 4.
They cover Year 5 and Year 6 and come with a 30% reduction on tuition fees. Applicants will be permitted to apply for only one scholarship, and the scholarship process will include an interview and assessments/auditions. Offers to will be made by the end of June and the Head’s decision to award any scholarships will be final.
There will be four scholarships available:
- Academic Scholarship: Open to candidates who can demonstrate exceptional strengths in assessment papers and who show strong thinking skills.
- Creative Arts Scholarship: Open to candidates who can demonstrate exceptional strengths in Visual Arts. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their work and to show some examples of previous creative pieces.
- Performing Arts Scholarship: Open to candidates who can demonstrate exceptional strengths in Music, Drama and/or Dance. Candidates should show evidence of musical or performance ability and will be asked to perform and show examples of previous achievements or experience.
- Sports Scholarship: Open to candidates who are actively involved in competitive sports at school, and possibly club level. All applicants will be assessed via fitness tests, and the assessment of personal skills and key sports.
Pupils currently in Year 4 may apply for a Prep scholarship to run over Years 5 and 6. Only one Prep Scholarship application is possible for each candidate.
The Prep Scholarship assessment afternoon includes an interview for each candidate. Dates for 2027 will be published soon.
Before applying for a scholarship you must first submit a general application form. As part of the general application, your daughter will sit assessments in English and maths. There is also an informal family interview with the Head and the Head of Prep. This will happen on a different day to the scholarship assessment afternoon.
