Sixth Form Retreat 13th October 2016

The Sixth Form once again went to the Cold Ash Retreat Centre in Berkshire for this year’s retreat.  We received a great welcome from the community there and began the day with introductions and worship through dance to get everyone properly woken up.
The theme of the day was to reflect on our life journey so far; looking back on what had shaped us and looking forward to the future.

The day gave everyone opportunities to reflect and think about events that had shaped us by choosing a picture which spoke to each person about their life journey.  The day helped the sixth form to bond and deepen friendships and mutual respect for each other.

The community of Franciscan sisters really set the tone of the day with their warmth and spirituality.  In the afternoon we experienced a ‘Cosmic Walk’, reflecting on the beauty and wonder of the universe and our place within it.

We had time to explore the grounds and take time to be by ourselves (as well as meet the horses and chickens out on the farm).  We finished the day with a time of prayer in their beautiful Chapel.  Everyone enjoyed the day and valued the opportunity to have some quiet space outside of school and would like to extend our thanks to the community at Cold Ash.
